This smartphone performs like something that costs hundreds of dollars more, with a fast processor, a rich display and a stunning design that oozes care and quality. The phone's MiFavor interface adds some nice software touches without getting in the way, while its megapixel camera takes gorgeous outdoor photos complete with plenty of tools for photography nuts. With the Axon 7, ZTE raises the bar substantially for premium, affordable flagships by delivering an excellent smartphone with very few compromises, even next to the very best.

ZTE Axon 7 w Polsce. After the strong performance of Axon 7, it is now time to review Axon 7 mini, which is one step lower in the price range, but it can undoubtedly compete with the popular names in this class. This device retains the same great design as the flagship-challenging Axon 7, while making acceptable trade-offs in performance to keep the price low.

The rear camera can turn out some pretty good-looking images, and watching videos on that vibrant screen with stereo sound is a pleasure. If you find it at a discount, then it becomes a more compelling option. Sounds great. But if you have a bit of wiggle room, use it, and find a better value.

Instead, it practically turns that approach on its head, barely decreasing size at all, and instead bringing us a phone that might be better called the Axon 7 Lite, dialing back on processing power and bells and whistles. Rather than looking at it as a "mini" version of the Axon 7, you should instead look at the Axon 7 Mini as an entirely different phone.

The G4 is a particularly compelling alternative since it has a cleaner UI and support for all major US carriers. If you're looking for a truly compact phone that doesn't compromise on its specs, the Google Pixel is your best option, but it costs twice as much.

With its two displays and hinge in between, the Axon M reminds us a little of the old Nokia Communicator, but it can do so much more. What exactly that is, we gathered for you in our review. If or when it does, we'll put it through all our usual tests and spend enough time with it to give you an idea of how it might work as your next primary device. But if you're not down to go double, spend your money on either a top-tier phone, or a cheaper phone with the same specs as the Axon M.

The Moto G — which costs half as much — does a better job. As for the results of images shot using the various effects, your mileage will vary tremendously. I was generally quite pleased with the Axon Pro's selfie camera. You can see excellent focus, exposure, and white balance in the examples below but please ignore the stupid look on my face. Taking selfies outdoors with plenty of sunshine isn't much of a challenge for the Axon Pro, but it performed well in darker environments, too. The Axon Pro can shoot video up to 2K resolution, but you'll be best served to stick with good old p HD.

As with the still camera, the Axon Pro's video camera delivered good focus, but I saw some inconsistencies with white balance and exposure. If you have something important to take pictures or capture video of, use dedicated equipment. ZTE apps are kept to the bare minimum on the Axon Pro. The Dolby Audio app is one you might want to futz with if you like to exert more control over the sound of your music. Samsung's second foldable phone takes a different approach: instead of folding larger, it folds smaller, much like Motorola's new razr foldable.

It's cheap for a foldable, but still quite pricey. OnePlus has an unusually confusing array of different "flagship" phones available right now, but the 7T is the newest mainstream model for most people.

It's still quite high-end, but for a reasonable price and without some of the crazier features of the new Pro models, which most people don't need anyway. CES is the world's consumer tech show.

This year, four products wowed us, each for a different reason. It may not seem like phones have changed much since the first iPhone came out. But there are a few key trends in recent years that change the relationship between our phones and our hands. Samsung's new flagship Galaxy S phones for are somewhat predictable in appearance and features, and they've leaked like crazy, but there are a few surprises.

It's a complex scene; you have a mix of natural light falling into the room from an adjacent window and colored, indoor light shining from above. However, ZTE's hardware and software navigate the visual landscape well, exposing the petals sharply, without oversaturating the yellow like the OnePlus 7T did.

You could certainly make the argument that 3x power is more useful than 2x when you really need optical zoom, but it's hard to ignore that the 7T's showing is plainly superior here.
